I made my way to Buffalo New York in 2008 by way of Jakarta, Indonesia where I worked as a trader at the Indonesian Stock Exchange. I noticed immediately how friendly people were and right away I realized Buffalo truly is the city of good neighbors. After spending more time in the city, I saw an opportunity in the local market to offer a fine selection of hand made Indonesian Batik, an artform and type of style I've long been familiar with.  Sasmita Batik contributes to people who have special needs, elderly, and homeless youth.

Sasmita Batik has participated in NYFW 2021 & 2022 and will soon participate in Paris Fashion Week 2024.
