Swym was founded in 2023 by Alexandra Esmonde, who was born in Buffalo and has a background in hospitality, real estate and entrepreneurship.  Alex has been swimming since she was two years old and grew up spending as much time as possible in the water and going to the beach. After countless trips to the beach, days at the pool and summers spent in bathing suits, she realized that there was always a common issue-her hands were always full, or she was always worrying about her belongings whenever she wanted to go in the water.

The idea for Swym came about accidently one day when she was discussing why women’s bathing suits don’t have pockets, and after realizing a need, the idea for Swym was born! Having a degree in Business Management, but no fashion or design background, Alex took years of research and design, finding factories, sourcing materials, and designing protypes to come up with the six original styles of Swym. She created flattering and fashionable styles, that also alleviated the need to have someone stay behind to watch the valuables. The line was designed for style and convenience, with the idea to protect your valuables when you are going into the water, taking a walk, or just don’t want to carry something in your hand.

Swym suits are unique because each bottom and one piece has a built-in pocket with a water-resistant removable insert. The pockets are discreet and constructed in a way that you do not even realize they are there. Perfect for keeping your valuables safe and allowing you to participate in any activity. Alex also owns a professional organizing and home design business and manages multiple properties. Swym has been a dream of hers for years, and after numerous setbacks has finally come to fruition.
